Canvas Quizzes
New or Classic Quizzes? That is the question.

New Quizzes or
Classic Quizzes?
There are 2 categories of quizzes in Canvas: New Quizzes, and Classic Quizzes. New Quizzes have additional capabilities and question types but can be a little more complicated to use. If you're just starting out you might want to use Classic Quizzes to learn the general workflow, and then add New Quizzes to your repertoire as you become more comfortable with Canvas. There is more information about quizzes in the Canvas Assessment course.
Canvas has four different types of quizzes:
-
A graded quiz is the most common quiz and rewards students points based on their quiz responses
-
A practice quiz is a learning tool to see how well users understand course material without providing a grade
-
A graded survey rewards students with points for completing a survey but grading is not based on right or wrong answers
-
An ungraded survey obtains opinions or other information without providing a grade
