Save Frequently

When working on a page, assignment, discussion prompt, etc., it's fine to periodically click Save at the bottom of the Canvas page. You can then click Edit and resume your work.

I sometimes find myself getting involved with something and then inadvertently leaving the page I was working on without saving it. Later I remember having done the work, but I can't find it.

At times Canvas realizes that you've done this, and provides an escape hatch. Click Yes and all or most of your work will re-appear:

You can also use the Page History to see previous versions of your page.

Click the Three Dots icon.
Select View Page History.
The Revision History is displayed.
Click one of the dates to see the page as it was then.
Click "Restore this revision" to revert the page back to this older version.
