Component 3: Teaching Practice and Classroom Environment
This portfolio entry captures details about your instructional planning, direct evidence of your practice from two video recordings and instructional materials, and your analysis of and reflection on your teaching as displayed in two video recordings.
You will be evaluated on the demonstrated evidence of your practice and analysis as it relates to three areas:
- Instruction
- Learning Environment
- Student Engagement
All candidates must submit two videos along with written commentary that show how your planning, instruction and learning environment met the needs of all student(s).
All of your work submitted to the National Board is scored against a Rubric which you can find in the back of your Component 3 instructions. That rubric is based on your Certificate Standards and the Architecture of Accomplished Teaching (AAT).
Watch this short video to help understand how the rubric and the AAT can help you understand what to do for your component.
